The Quality Assurance Commission is committed to promote high standards of excellence in education, to accredit higher and professional education programmes, and to certify quality of provision in the area of global education. This commitment is achieved through the following services:

Accreditation of Programmes

The Quality Assurance Commission establishes academic, institutional, ethical and business standards; examines and evaluates programmes in terms of these standards; and grants accreditation to education programmes from all over the world.

Certification of Quality Management System

The Quality Assurance Commission examines and evaluates programmes in terms of applicable QMS standards; and grants certification to education institutions from all over the world.

Degree Recognition Certificate – Foreign Credentials Evaluation

The Quality Assurance Commission is also engaged in international credentials evaluation by recognition of qualifications alignment to the UK Qualifications and Credit Framework. Graduates from accredited institutions or programmes may ensure and demonstrate that their education diploma, earned credits and awarding institution are considered to be bona fide and accredited according to The Quality Assurance Commission standards by requesting a Recognition Certificate.

The Quality Assurance Commission is recognised as eligible for inclusion in the KIS and listed in the List of Accrediting Bodies.

The Quality Assurance Commission was founded in order to validate higher education programmes offered overseas in terms of qualifications alignment to UK Qualifications and Credit Framework based on standards that are relevant and applicable to all higher education programs globally and which support and encourage excellence in higher education worldwide.

The Quality Assurance Commission is established as a supporting body for accreditation of programmes in vocational, professional and higher education provisions. It is one of the eight Supporting Bodies for accreditation in the United Kingdom.

Its establishment is gazetted at the UK Government National Archives of UK Professional and Supporting Bodies, and registered with UK government Higher Education Statistics Agency HESA as recognised Accrediting Body.

All UK Supporting Bodies for accreditation are self-accredited organisations. UK Supporting Bodies for accreditation are established in their own rights and are self-regulated bodies. Recognition by UK HESA affirms that standards and processes of Accrediting Bodies are consistent with quality, improvement, and accountability regulations that UK HEPISG has established.

The Quality Assurance Commission is recognised as an accrediting body for the purposes of Key Information Set KIS, operated and published by the UK government Higher Education Statistics Agency and registered as `Accrediting Body´.

An accredited course is defined by HESA as one which is recognised by an accrediting body and may confer membership, chartered status or partial exemption. Accreditation may be 'any process of approval leading to assurance that a programme meets the standards required by a particular profession'.

Organisations that undertake accreditation of HE programmes and are identified through a KIS will be asked to provide relevant information on their own websites explaining in general terms the purposes of accreditation of higher educational programmes and the potential benefits to students.

The Quality Assurance Commission complies with the requirements for HESA KIS registration, as PSRB (Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body) for programme accreditation. According to the HEBRG (Higher Education Better Regulation Group) one of the roles of a PSRB may be to accredit programmes of higher education, either directly or through institutional accreditation. HEPISG, the Higher Education Public Information Steering Group, has ultimate responsibility for information contained within and developed for KIS. While certain functions associated with professional accreditation are devolved to HEFCE, HESA, QAA and HEBRG, HEPISG's decisions are final over inclusion to the list of accrediting bodies.

The Quality Assurance Commission is also engaged in international recognition of qualifications alignment to UK Qualifications and Credit Framework. The recognition certificates are recognised by professional bodies for certified memberships, by higher education institutions for further studies and by employers. The QAC supporting body for accreditation is registered in the United Kingdom.
